Karthik Pasumarthy is a Rehabilitation engineer who is currently working for the Department of Health within the Health Technology Management unit.

Karthik has a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Biomedical Engineering and did an elective in Rehabilitation Engineering at Regency Park, Novita Tech in 2010.

He has over 9 years’ experience in the field of AT and worked in various areas ranging from setting up complex alternative wheelchair controls, postural seating and pressure management, environmental controls and communication devices.

Karthik currently sits on the NCRE (National committee of Rehabilitation Engineering within Biomedical Engineering College of Engineers Australia) is also a committee member of standards Australia’s ME-067 : Assistive Technology Products for Persons with Disability and represents standards Australia as the technical expert to write international wheelchair seating standards with  ISO TC 173/SC1/WG11 : wheelchair seating.
